Ferdia is a professional member of the Art Directors Guild of Ireland. He is a graduate of Central Saint Martin's College of Art & Design London and the College of Marketing and Design (DIT/TCD) Dublin.

He designs for screen and stage and his stage designs have been seen across Europe, the USA, and China.

​

At the Prague Quadrennial in 2007 Ferdia was given the prestigious Honorary Scenographer Award from the International Organisation of Scenographers, Theatre Architects and Technicians (OISTAT).
